Elevating Research and Learning: A Recap of the Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Workshop at CUTN
The PROPUL Evidence Synthesis Unit (PROPUL ESU), in collaboration with experienced external professionals, hosted an impactful workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis at the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) in Thiruvarur. This significant event aimed to improve research skills and knowledge among up-and-coming scholars.
We welcomed a diverse group of students from various fields like epidemiology, public health, psychology, economics, sociology, and computer science, contributing to a dynamic and engaging learning environment. The variety of participants led to an exchange of unique ideas and perspectives, enriching the workshop experience.
The event focused on making complex topics – steps in systematic review, literature review, risk of bias assessment, reporting of results, and meta-analysis more understandable and accessible. Through interactive sessions and hands-on practice, participants gained practical skills to apply these research methods effectively in their own studies. The enthusiastic participation and thoughtful questions from the students highlighted the workshop’s relevance and effectiveness.
The positive responses we received from attendees confirmed the workshop’s success and highlighted the growing need for educational initiatives in the research field. Motivated by this feedback, we are eager to expand our efforts and provide more people with the tools needed for research excellence.
We extend our sincere thanks to the students and faculty at CUTN for their vital role in the workshop’s success. Special appreciation goes to our guest speakers, Dr. Yuvaraj Krishnamoorthy, Dr. Marie Gilbert Majella, and Dr. Premkumar, for their invaluable insights. Thanks also to Dr. Sujit Kumar Behera and Prof. Dr. N. Gopalan for their excellent organization and leadership.
As we continue, our commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment and advancing research innovation remains strong. We are excited about future educational opportunities and look forward to contributing further to a thriving academic community.
