This systematic review aims to quantify the case fatality rate and toxic potency of paraquat—a widely used but highly toxic herbicide—based on human poisoning data. It addresses the gap in evidence-based human risk classification, supporting updates to global pesticide hazard systems.

• Estimate pooled case fatality rate (CFR) for paraquat poisoning
• Analyze toxic potency by formulation, geography, and demographics
• Evaluate study quality and data consistency using JBI tools
