Effectiveness of Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation (Pci) Among Patients with Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of

Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation (PCI) in patients with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC), focusing on outcomes such as overall survival, quality of life, incidence of brain metastasis, and neurocognitive effects. The study compared PCI against no PCI across various subgroups of SCLC patients, providing insights into its role in improving patient outcomes amidst ongoing advancements in cancer treatment.

Key Findings

The project highlighted the potential benefits of PCI in reducing the incidence of brain metastasis while also shedding light on the risks related to neurocognitive decline. These findings provide updated evidence to guide clinical decision-making and patient management in SCLC.
